Jeffrey G. Marchetta, is an Professor in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Memphis. Dr. Marchetta specializes in the design and analysis of fluid-thermal systems and has research interests in alternative energy and sustainability. He recently completed an NSF sponsored grant to study the feasibility of using aerogels as insulating materials for industrial burners. He is currently researching the influence of rotation on flooding in polymer membrane fuel cells (PMFC) to maximize the rate of ionization.
Dr. Marchetta is currently the Assistant Director of the 3-Star Industrial Training & Assessment Center (ITAC), led by Tennessee Technological University. He has led the satellite program at the University of Memphis in performing manufacturing plant assessments since 2009 in the Midsouth. As a consultant, Dr. Marchetta has offered short courses on energy efficiency in manufacturing plants and commercial buildings. He also has experience in performing environmental air quality studies on commercial facilities.
