Future-Ready Manufacturing
–

This Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) workshop is designed to help Tennessee manufacturers improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and stay ahead of environmental and regulatory expectations through practical pollution prevention (P2) strategies.
Pollution prevention focuses on reducing or eliminating waste at its source—before it becomes a liability. By adopting P2 practices, businesses can lower raw material and energy costs, minimize waste disposal expenses, reduce regulatory risk, and enhance overall process efficiency.
During this workshop, participants will gain access to proven tools, technical resources, and real-world strategies to support waste reduction, process optimization, energy efficiency, and safer chemical substitution. While recycling is not considered a primary P2 approach, innovative recycling solutions will be explored as a complementary strategy to maximize resource value. Attendees will leave with actionable insights they can apply immediately to improve their bottom line while advancing any strategic goals.
