Shawn Hern

Shawn Hern is the Engineering Director at ClimateMaster and ClimaCool.  He has a passion for providing the best renewable energy solutions to building owners. Growing up on a farm in northern Oklahoma gave him the opportunity to work on mechanical systems at an early age, including repairing machines and cursing the engineer when working on a poor design. When attending Oklahoma State University to obtain a B.S and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he found a love for thermal systems. Following graduation, he joined ClimateMaster to develop some of the most efficient and cutting-edge water-source heat pump systems for use in residential and commercial space conditioning.  After a brief tenure developing air-source heat pumps, he transitioned to a commercial contracting company to oversee their design and installation teams.  This experience helped gain further knowledge on the application and challenges installers face in the field. In late 2021, an opportunity was presented to rejoin the Climate Control Group team.   When not working on developing HVAC systems, he enjoys designing and building furniture as well as working on the “next” house project.
