Douglas Reindl, Ph.D., P.E. is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the director of its Industrial Refrigeration Consortium. He is a past chair and currently a voting member of the ASHRAE Standard 15 committee. Reindl is serving as the chair of ASHRAE’s newly formed ad hoc committee “Safety for Next Generations Refrigerants.” For more than three decades, Professor Reindl has provided education for industry professionals in the design, operations, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems that ensures their safety, reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
