Zachary Nixon serves as the AI Capabilities & Risk Management Lead within the Source Directorate at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency(NGA).
In this role, he delivers new and emerging AI capabilities. Mr. Nixon focuses on AI risk management within Source and serves as a technical advisor to Source senior leadership on AI.
Mr. Nixon’s expertise spans photogrammetry, remote sensing, automation, and machine learning, and he specializes in integrating advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of geospatial data workflows. His work includes developing automated quality assurance processes for elevation data and enabling AI capabilities across the Source Directorate.
Mr. Nixon holds a B.S. in Geography from George Mason University and an M.S. in Data Science from the University of Missouri. His graduate research focused on applying AI to canopy height modeling.
