Evan Dertien is the Chief Technology Officer for the Small Business Consulting Corporation supporting DoD capability development. He is an engineer and test pilot who is passionate about leveraging technology to solve problems and create new capabilities.

Evan served for 32 years in the U.S. Air Force and was the Commander of the Air Force Test Center at Edwards AFB, California. The Air Force Test Center executes 800+ test programs annually, utilizing $42 billion of specialized infrastructure and over 19,000 personnel across 30 sites. AFTC is responsible for the development, testing and evaluation of new aircraft, weapons, hypersonic systems, datalinks, cyber systems, and other emerging technologies.

Evan also served as the Commander of three different Test Wings and was the Commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory. He is a graduate of USAF Test Pilot School and served as a fighter pilot and test pilot accumulating 3,300+ hours in 50+ different aircraft types.
