Dr. Yarom Polsky is the director of the Manufacturing Science Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he leads research in composite science and technology, industrial efficiency, precision manufacturing and machining, and secure and digital manufacturing. His research teams operate the Department of Energy ‘s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility and the Carbon Fiber Technology Facility. Polsky joined ORNL in 2009 and has held multiple positions including section head for energy systems integration and controls and manager for ORNL’s geothermal energy program. He has also served in leadership roles with the National Alliance for Water Innovation and CESMII – Smart Manufacturing Institute. He is a joint faculty member at the Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
