Edward Blandford

Dr. Edward Blandford is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Kairos Power, where he leads all engineering and technology development for the company’s advanced reactor program. He oversees KP-FHR design and analysis, major hardware demonstrations, internal manufacturing programs, fuel and salt supply infrastructure, construction management, environmental health and safety, engineering operations, and licensing strategy for the company’s future fleet. Blandford’s technical leadership has been central to building Kairos Power’s integrated development ecosystem, which combines design, testing, advanced manufacturing, and supply-chain qualification to support the company’s rapid iterative development approach and drive toward cost certainty. Before co-founding Kairos Power, Blandford served as an assistant professor in nuclear engineering at the University of New Mexico.
