Dr. Ryan Dehoff is the director of the Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the advanced manufacturing technical lead for the Office of Nuclear Energy Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies program. Dehoff’s research expertise is in understanding correlations between conditions of advanced manufacturing processes, material microstructure, and mechanical performance, specifically for metals and alloys for additive manufacturing. He has worked on multiple additive manufacturing technologies including electron beam and laser powder bed printing, large scale directed energy deposition technology, and solid state-based additive manufacturing processes. Dehoff joined ORNL in 2009 as a research scientist and has made significant contributions to the field of additive manufacturing.
