Dr. Jason Wilkes is a Senior Manager at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), where he leads the Rotating Machinery Development Section focused on advancing energy efficiency, reliability, and affordability through turbomachinery design, analysis, and testing.
His work spans a wide range of energy systems and working fluids, including CO₂, hydrogen, steam, and refrigerants, supporting applications from power generation to energy storage. He has led and contributed to major projects in supercritical CO₂ power cycles and advanced compression technologies, earning multiple R&D 100 Awards. Dr.
Wilkes holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Texas A&M University and has authored numerous publications in turbomachinery design and rotordynamics.
