Carol Larvick is a senior power systems engineer specializing in utility telecommunications with a passion for supporting the reliability and availability of the national electric grid.  She is currently leading projects in secure grid communications and complementary timing systems to reduce the grid’s dependence on GPS. Carol spent over 30 years in the electric utility industry developing a wide range of telecommunications skills including project and program management, policy development, planning, design, training, field site surveys, acceptance testing, control center operations, compliance, and public involvement.

Carol’s experience with and within electric utilities, supplemented by common carrier and consulting experience, has given her a detailed understanding of how telecommunication systems impact and interact with the electric grid and its control and situational awareness systems. Carol has a BS in electrical engineering from Gonzaga University.
