Dr. Shamim Hasan: Dr. Hasan is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Grid Transients and Advanced Modeling Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Previously, he worked as an R&D Engineer at Hitachi Energy in India. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay, Indian, and his M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India. His research interests include EMT modeling, control of grid-connected converters under unbalanced conditions, microgrids, and power quality improvement.

Mr. Glen Halley: Mr. Halley has over thirty years’ experience as an electrical engineer and has worked for City Utilities in Springfield, Missouri, for twenty-three years doing distribution, transmission, substation, and broadband design. He was their only distribution planner for seven years and is now the transmission planner, a position he has held for three years. He has served as the Safety Committee chair and been a Duty Supervisor for system restoration. Currently, he serves on Southwest Power Pool’s Grid Transformation Advisory Group and Transmission Analysis and Technical Evaluation Task Force.

Dr. David Gleich: Dr. Gleich is a Professor and University Faculty Scholar whose research is on novel models and fast large-scale algorithms for data-driven scientific computing including scientific data analysis, bioinformatics, and network analysis. In terms of buzzwords, he enjoys manipulating matrices, graphs, networks, tensors (if they fit). He is committed to making software available based on this research and has written software package such as MatlabBGL with thousands of users worldwide. Dr. Gleich has received a number of awards for his research including a SIAM Outstanding Publication price (2018), a Sloan Research Fellowship (2016), an NSF CAREER Award (2011), and the John von Neumann post-doctoral fellowship at Sandia National Laboratories (2009).

Dr. Francis Joseph: Dr. Joseph is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Grid Transients and Advanced Modeling Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He received his Ph.D. and master’s in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. He worked as a Senior Engineer in the R&D department at PRDC Pvt. Ltd., India. His research interests include power-system stability, high-performance computing applications in power systems, and time-domain simulation.
